Deliverables:

  • Training Delivery Schedule
  • Access to SAP Basic Navigation Computer-Based Training (CBT)
  • Course Evaluations
  • Delivery of Instructor-Led Training (ILT)
  • Business Simulations and Workshops

SAP Corporate Training Approach

A blended learning approach is recommended, combining various training methods to meet the diverse needs of participants.

Windows Training

Employees unfamiliar with Microsoft Windows will attend foundational training on-site or through third-party providers, as this is a prerequisite for SAP usage.

Computer-Based Training (CBT)

All SAP-impacted employees begin their training with RWD's Basic Navigation CBT, which introduces essential SAP principles and prepares them for subsequent instructor-led training.

Instructor-Led Training (ILT)

ILT sessions are designed to:

  • Teach high-level concepts and system navigation tips.
  • Train users on troubleshooting tools and online support systems.
  • Cover process and transactional training in classroom settings for groups of 8-10 participants.

Coaching

Segment-specific training is conducted through coaching sessions, where team leaders or project mentors provide practical skills training to small groups.

Business Simulations

Business simulations offer a practical environment for users to apply the skills learned in ILT. They simulate real-life scenarios to foster cross-departmental collaboration and assess readiness for process adoption.

Workshops

Workshops provide additional, targeted instruction to address gaps identified during business simulations. These sessions deliver updates and improvements to processes or transactions and focus on small groups for personalized learning.

Corporate Training Delivery Methods

To cater to a diverse user population, the training program incorporates varied delivery methods, including:

Foundational Training: For users with minimal prior knowledge.

Advanced Instruction: For users requiring comprehensive expertise.

Blended Learning: A mix of CBT, ILT, coaching, simulations, and workshops to ensure a robust and versatile training experience.

This structured approach ensures that employees acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for effective SAP implementation and operational excellence.

SAP Basic Navigation CBT

Employees utilizing SAP technology must progress in their corporate training journey by completing RWD's Basic Navigation CBT. This course provides learners with fundamental SAP skills and key principles that are essential before advancing to Instructor-Led Training (ILT).

At the end of the CBT, participants are required to take and pass a credential test to qualify for the ILT sessions.

Method/Tool Description Key Benefits
SAP Basic Navigation CBT The SAP CBT enables end-users to engage in self-paced learning with a strong emphasis on interactive demonstrations and hands-on exercises. Most users can conveniently access the training directly from their workstations, with access details and instructions distributed via email notifications. The SAP CBT provides users with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the SAP environment before attending Instructor-Led Training (ILT). Participants gain valuable experience through multiple test and quiz checkpoints, along with hands-on practice in a safe, 24/7 accessible environment.
Risks/ Requirements Ensure that each appropriate workstation is connected and equipped with the necessary licenses for new employees. Communicate to managers that their direct reports will require sufficient time to complete the CBT effectively.

Course Outlines

The course outlines offer a high-level overview of the training programs, detailing the key topics and objectives covered in each course.

Method/Tool Description Key Benefits
Course Outline Each course will be developed with clear objectives to ensure alignment with the overall project goals. The Training Team will define the high-level topics to be covered, identify the target audience for each course, and specify the course duration, ensuring that the training is both relevant and effective for all participants. The courses are designed to be process-focused, allowing end users to apply the training concepts to real-world scenarios. Through clear, upfront curriculum planning, the training audience is grouped by skill sets, ensuring that each participant receives information that is both relevant and appropriately detailed for their role. This structured approach helps ensure that the right people are equipped with the knowledge they need to succeed.
Risks/ Requirements Ensure connectivity to each appropriate workstation and confirm the number of licenses required for new employees. Additionally, inform managers that their direct reports will need sufficient time allocated to complete the CBT successfully.

Instructor-Led Training (ILT)

The machine and paper-based materials are developed and reviewed during Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions. These classes feature presentations, student demonstrations, group discussions, and interactive activities. A training database—essentially a replica or “instance” of the actual SAP system—provides participants with practical, hands-on experience. ILT focuses on general SAP principles, system navigation, and newly implemented business procedures, while also introducing users to online support tools and workplace resources.

ILT emphasizes mission-critical tasks that participants are most likely to perform immediately after Go-Live. Instructors guide learners through these essential tasks, supported by exercises designed to simulate real-world scenarios.

Method/Tool Description Key Benefits
ILT Led by trainers and supported by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), the sessions emphasize interactive discussions, hands-on practice, and practical exercises. Instructors utilize a training database and comprehensive training manuals to deliver the content effectively. Presentation tools and exercise packets are provided to participants to enhance the learning experience. The training provides users with the opportunity to have their system and business-related questions addressed by experts. It emphasizes business-focused tasks, rather than solely system-related activities, allowing participants to gain a broader understanding. Peer interaction enhances the learning experience, while hands-on practice in a safe environment reinforces skills. The use of reference materials is integrated into the course, ensuring participants become familiar with these resources for future use.
Risks/ Requirements Ensure that class sizes are appropriate, maintaining a student-to-instructor ratio of no more than 10:1. Instructors should be highly qualified, effective, and knowledgeable, with excellent communication skills to facilitate an engaging and productive learning environment.

Training Database (supports classroom training)

The training database supports the creation and delivery of instructional content, providing learners with a safe environment to perform hands-on exercises. Populated with practical data such as master data, model customers, and vendors, the database serves as a testing environment during the training development process. Additionally, the platform is utilized to facilitate seminars, company simulations, and ILT exercises, enhancing the overall training experience.

Method/Tool Description Key Benefits
Training Database The training database offers a “safe place” for users to practice activities and transactions without impacting the live production environment. It supports real-time demonstrations and hands-on exercises during Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and coaching sessions, ensuring a practical and risk-free learning experience. The training database is designed to closely mirror the configuration of Alpha D-Tech Solution & Services's live environment, ensuring that users gain realistic and relevant experience during their training sessions.
Risks/ Requirements The training database requires an initial setup and population with realistic data, which necessitates adequate technical resources. It must be regularly updated to reflect system changes and refreshed periodically to ensure trainees are working with clean and accurate data.

E. Coaching

Coaching is a highly effective preparation method for small groups with specialized skills, focusing on refining procedures and providing follow-up instruction. In such cases, extensive formal training materials are unnecessary; instead, key priorities are outlined, and a specialist works closely with users to explain and demonstrate critical work-related tasks. Users then practice or showcase their new skills, receiving immediate feedback for improvement. Coaching can occur before or after implementation, in research, training, or live environments.
